I'd rather it didn't look quite like a beer barrel but a rain barrel is the #1 thing on my list this year. How grown up is that?

Ooh I want one too! I'm not totally sure how they work though - i mean how does the water get in that barrel unless it's coming off the chemically-shingles? I need to look into it.
Ok, I should revise - when I'm thinking about watering food plants. For others, no big deal.
You bring up a good point Lauren - hmmmm! I was planning on using it off the roof. I'll have to rethink because this would be for the nonexistent garden
You can set up a filtration system within the barrel using things line fine weaved material and charcoal. Look into it online I am sure someone has some plans because I have seen it done. We would be all about pitching in on that for you!!!
