All Done Blocking

Well it's been about 6 months since we last talked about this project. We've been slowly plugging away at it, and we just reached a turning point: we finished sewing, ironing and trimming all the blocks and couldn't wait to lay it all out in the living room to see what the final product will look like.

We're now in the process of sewing all the blocks together, next will be sewing the front and back together and "quilting" it.

Next Step: finding somewhere or someone that has a "quilting" machine.

Anna Maria Horner just posted about how to hand-quilt! :)

Wow! What a quilt. I've always dreamed of doing a quilt, even started one. Someday.

Congratulations on your progress in your adoption journey. May things move quickly, and may your child be watched over until you bring him/her home! (I know how you feel about the paperwork. I especially hate how you feel so pressured to fill everything out and get it back to the agency "yesterday" only to have it sit on someone's desk for 3 weeks! ARGH!

Thanks Deborah! We are super excited but at the same time we are trying to be patient with everyone else who deal with people with us for a living. :)

Quilt Update: We're on the hunt for the backing for the quilt and it turns out that may be harder than we expected. Could cost us another 6 months. DRAT!
